The Journey
What is Spirit?
Is it Imagination?

Shamanism has a long and powerful ancestry.  In fact, if we go back far enough in our family histories we would find that we are all descended from shamanic communities from thousands of years ago!  It is a truly tested, practical way to receive help and empowerment in our everyday lives.

To gain shamanic help the person seeking help 'journeys' in a specific state of consciousness - a bit like in a visualisation or deep meditation.  He or she travels through the spirit worlds to meet spirit helpers and ask for healing, guidance or advice. This is done using a range of simple and easy techniques which create a magical and safe connection to this universal source of power.  The help is brought back into this reality, into our everyday lives, to allow positive shifts in our daily experience and relationships to take place.  We can ask for help with the really practical things in our lives...

"On my first journey I asked for help with balancing my body, as I carry weight which won't move and I feel out of balance with myself and that my body is lacking something.  After a really fun journey, the next morning I woke up and wanted fruit and yogurt for breakfast (something I never usually eat), then that day I craved salmon and fresh spinach, which I had for my dinner.

My eating regime has completely changed, the change being that my body/mind tells me what I want.  I no longer have big energy drops throughout the day, in fact I haven't felt this good in years!"

It is my belief and experience that we all have the ability to connect to our own Spirit Helpers in a safe and simple way, with a little help and training.  Some of us do this spontaneously, or even unconsciously, using other methods of receiving healing and inspiration.

Shamanism is about experiencing our connection with each other, with nature, in the web of life.  It is easy to separate and withdraw from this source that runs through the Universe.  We can feel cut off, weak, lonely depressed or as if we don't belong ... or we can simply be too busy to find the time and space to listen.  We can touch the Spirit within ourselves by finding the peace to sit and listen within.  Shamanism is a grounded practice of bringing Spirit into our everyday lives.
