There are many considerations when choosing someone to work with in any walk of life.  Shamanism is no different!

I find it helpful to remind myself to trust my intuition, my 'gut' feeling, and my heart, as well as asking all the practical questions that I like to ask.  Be honest about what you want to work with, and to speak and listen from your heart as much as possible - this is the best way to really hear what a practitioner has to say.

Sample questions to ask a practitioner include:

  • How did you train?
  • How do you run your sessions?
  • What can I expect from my first session?
  • What can I expect to gain overall?
  • Do you have a code of practice/supervision/continuation training?
  • How many sessions will I need?
  • How much do you charge?

As the practitioner answers these questions notice how you feel.  Do you feel supported, understood, listened to?  Do you think you would feel safe working with the practitioner.  Trust your feeling ..... and if it feels okay, go for it!

There is more information about working with me, my ethics and the way that I work on the Contacting Me page.  Practitioners that I can recommend, as I have worked with them, are listed on the List of Practitioners page.
