About 12 or so years ago I was feeling restless in my career. I had absolutely no idea what it was I wanted to do that would fulfill me. My search had started with shamanic training several years before, but I wasn't sure whether this would be a career in any way.
My shamanic counselor, who helped me choose my journeys and witnessed them with me, discussed the problem with me. Between us, we came up with a journey mission to ask my spirit helpers which career would support and nourish me. My teacher took me to the Upper World, and into a library. There on the shelf I saw a copy of 'Who's Who', the book of mini biographies of many living people. I opened it and flicked through the pages until I was surprised to see myself listed! Under my name were mentioned 3 careers, one of which was 'homeopath'. It seemed my spirit helpers recognised that this would suit me!
Many years later I am a practising homeopath. A lot of my work is unadulterated, classical homeopathy as taught in homeopathic colleges worldwide. However, I have explored shamanism, as part of my university research project (which is another story!), in workshops for homeopaths and also working one to one with people who want a deliberate mix of homeopathy and shamanism. This blend of the two different (but completely related and connected) works symbiotically to allow one way to develop, deepen and inform the other - they work in perfect harmony. Thus shamanism can become part of this ordinary career and with it other homeopaths and patients become interested in shamanism. Thanks to my spirit helpers I have been able to follow the best careers advice I have ever had, which is grounded and practical in ordinary reality too.
